FAQ
Are you serious? Do you really think 3 days is enough?
Yes. 3DT's theory on travel is that 3 days in one place will usually enable you to see everything you want to see. In fact, some of the biggest cities in the world can be seen in less! We're not saying that longer trips aren't fun - there are definitely advantages to spending more time in a location. But for the majority of people, 3 days will get you the experience of a lifetime. And, if you have more time, combine the trips. Do Amsterdam and Zurich together!
Is it really logical to fly 4000 miles for just 3 days?
Well, it depends on your level of adventure. How many Thursday nights have you had dinner, sat down and watched a movie, and done nothing exciting? Well, in the same time, after doing the same things, you could arrive in some of the best cities in the world. It's logical because it is so easy! In fact, companies such as Orbitz, Continental Airlines, American Airlines, United... They all offer special weekend deals that leave on a Saturday and return on a Monday. People do this, all the time!
This isn't my idea of a fun vacation...
Then it isn't for you! Different strokes, for different folks. 3 day trips are for travelers. A vacationer looking to sit at a resort in the Caribbean for a week is not a traveler. They are just vacationers. The idea behind 3DT is to be a traveler, to experience life in another location in a minimal amount of time.
How can this be affordable?
Well, like anything else in life, if you want to do something, you will find a way to justify it. Yes, this is more expensive than most other hobbies. But, there is no price that can be set for experiences. A weekend in London or Rome or Berlin... Can't be beat and will shape you forever!
Over time, you will learn tricks to save money. Accumulate miles, get a credit card that converts cash spent to miles earned. Its possible!
And, if you can't afford to fly... Why not drive? If you live in the US, there are plenty of great destinations that are probably close to home!
What if I have more than 3 days?
Combine the trips. These trip guides are modular in nature. Combine 3 days in Amsterdam with 3 days in London or Paris. 3 days in Sydney with 3 in Melbourne and another 3 in Auckland. The possibilities are endless.
You have to be somewhat physically fit for these crazy itineraries...
Well, I can't run a marathon but I can stay awake for 36+ hours. Everyone knows their own limits! But seriously, if you are going to be going to a great city for 3 or even for 5 days - do you want to sit around doing nothing? Our itineraries are fit for most people - allowing time to relax and people watch. But it doesn't allow for sleeping in and wasting a day.
But I this, But I that, But, But....
Stop making excuses. Anyone can be a world traveler, including you!
